Let's review some of the details together.
This week we read about how Sandy and her dog Lob became best friends. We learned that Lob walked over 400 miles twice to get back to Sandy. One day, many years later, Sandy and Lob were walking up a hill when a truck hit Sandy. She was taken to the hospital, but she was not getting better. Then, Lob showed up at the hospital to be with Sandy. Everyone tries to make him leave because dogs are not allowed in hospitals. He finally gets in her room and licks her hand. Sandy immediately comes out of the coma. When Sandy's family hears about their daughter's recovery, they are very excited. However, when they found out that Lob had been at the hospital they looked shocked. They could not figure out how Lob could come to the hospital when he too was killed in the accident!
For today's blog posting, you need to explain how you felt when you read the end of the story. Is it believable? Why or Why not? What do you think happened that day at he hospital? Be sure to use details from the story to explain your answer.

I think the ending was very sweet, but yet suprising because it was as if Lob came back to life. Sandy's dad had said he was found dead and they buried him in the sea,i think it was actually his spirit that came back because Lob had loved her so much.

At the end of the story I felt confused because supposely Lob was dead and somehow he showed up at the hospital just to see Sandy!I think it is not beliveable for most people including me.because how can a supposely dead dog come to a hospital and wake up somehow thats in a coma.Maybe that day at the hospital I think it was Lob at the hospital and not his spirit.Because that dog came to the ospital to see Sandy and he responed to her when she called him Lob.SM1

The ending made you linger because the ending was strange the dog came back when he was suppose to die because the truck ran him over with sandy so they thought he was dead so they dropped him off in the middle of the sea because they thought he was dead so they threw him in the sea.But then the dog comes to visit sandy maybe he escaped the sea and he wasnt dead maybe he was alive. ReplyDeleteI felt chock bacause Lob was suppose to be dead. Its unbelievable because he cant come back to life. I tink that the spirit of Lob came to see Sandy so she will wake up. After Sandy woke up from the coma, Lob left from the hosptial.I think it was Lob because one of his reletive threw Lob in the water and in the hospital he was wet and felt something on his neck that was kind of heavy

A the end of the story it was pretty amasing. I was heart brocken beacuse i cuold imagen how she felt wene she woke up and told her that her dog lob had died. I think that the story was bealiveable beacouse a dog could die in a car crash and a person can tie a peice of some thing that can die from. So yeah, i think it's pretty real to me. i think that the dog that was their was really lob in the spirit and he just wanted sandy to wake up. s, lob really loved sandy and he wanted the best for her and wanted her to be okay. He did't want her to die or stay in a coma and never wake up. so that tells us that lob really loves sandy

ReplyDeleteAt the end of the story I felt bad because sandys only dog died but somehow came back!It is believable because anything could happen in a story.I think that lob came back because he didn't want sandy to die.Thats why he was whineing to wake her up.One story was about a boy who lost his brother in a car accident but somehow came back to life to say his good bye's.(I don't know the title)

I don't think it is believable, because of the fact that they said Lob was dead and then they said that Lob went to the hospital to go see Sandy. It is real confusing. That day in the hospital i think that Lob just went to the hospital so she could see him one last time before he ran away or died or something bad happened to him.

This was a confusing storie but it was a good one I loved it because the ending was amazing it wasn't those other ones like and they lived hapily ever after i like those short stories that lives us out curios. I felt sad about the coma and every thing else cause that was sad and sometimes im happy like when lob loves her and takes care of her I loved it.I think lob came back from the dead and went back to say good bye. Its ubelivable I liked it and espceilly when he went to the hospital when he was all ready dead I have to say that if I have to make a level I would say 100. I loved it. DH2
ReplyDeleteAfter I heard about this story I was amazed it just seemed unbelievable because they said he was killed by the truck. I thought he was really dead untill he came in the hospital.It couldnt be anything else but the love he had for Sandy so this story could be believable it was just so much work for all the love he had and that just let him live and be with her he might have been dead but he survived after the drowning and the car accident insident something just let him be.

This story was very interesting to me. it told me that friendship is one of the best things that could ever happen to anybody.at the end of the story i felt sad and confused because first lob goes to the hospital to see sandy. then they call them that lob died. it left me thinking that he came back in his spirit to say goodbye to sandy and that he will always be there even though she dosent see him. i think that the dog that was in the hospital was lob because he would do anything to find sandy. he would risk his life for her because he loves her more than ever. ReplyDeleteAfter I read this story I was amaced because it said that Sandys parents were shocked because they saw lob.Mostly because it said that Lob had died at the acsident when Sandy got hit by a trucck.It also said that the other owner had put cancret on his coler and he sinked down on the sea. Then people were amazide because,they saw Lobs weat footprints even knowing he was died. I think thats very in away sad. MLA2
ReplyDeleteI think the end of the story was very sad and confusing.I think it was believable becuase Lob likes Sandy alot and that's why he came back to see Sandy and say good buy to her.Lob was standing outside trying to go inside the hospital to see Sandy in the hospital.The guard didn't let him go inside until Mrs.Greace told the guard aout his story.So the guard told her wait there and he went to go tell the doctor.He came out and said that the dog could go see Sandy but once or twice.They entered the room and Lob started to whine and Sandy moved her arm.Then he whined again and then she moved and petted him on the ears and fell back to sleep.But they said Lob was dead because the treuck killed him.And then they wandred who was that dog.

ReplyDeleteAt the end of tyhe story I felt sad of how Lob ended up to die and Sandy was going to be left alone and. I think that day in the hospital it was also sad how when Lob didn't had a chance to live and Sandy did. I t was also confusing because how would a dog come back after he died at the same time the girl got crashed. It was also happy when Lob came back to life or something to say goobye to Sandy, since she was never going to see her again. The other thing that was happy was that Lob had woken Sandy up from a deep sleep. The only thing I did'nt like was that Lob had to die because i love dogs but since Lob died I was so upset of the ending was. I think the story was belivable because a dog could be nice like Lob was and what dog would want to be with a person as nice as Lob to even walk 400 miles twice when you won't know what could happen during that time and paws bleeding.

I felt sad,confusing,and mad because some parts u think he will never come back and at the end you dont know if he is really Lob or not.Also,mad because i want the story to tell me what really happened to Lob.I think this story is not believable because i dont think a dog can really walk that long.Also i dont think a dog would be allowed in a hospital because i think you would get in alot of trouble.In the hospital i think that the dog the woman that found was really Lob.The dog that they found dead was a different dog that just looks like the real Lob.

I think it is believable, because he was wet and he looked like Lob and act like him to.If it wasn't how did he know the right hospital, the right room, and the right place where Sandy was. I think it was a spirit that wanted to say good bye for the last time and then rest in peace.I would add more to the story, I know that it is a long story any way but it is very intasting and sad. That was a sad story but Iam happy that he came back. My dog is just like Lob and I would be very sad if that happen. VJ2

Today i felt very sad because i love dogs sooo much that i don't like hearing stories like that. But the story was very sad because Lob died in the accident Sandy had been in. It was also sad because Lob had lived with Sandy for 9 years, if i were Sandy i would have cried a lot! It is a believable story because things like that have happened. I'm not sure what might have happened because Lob was dead and a wet dog had come in the hospital and it didn"t seem to be Lob because he was dead...

I think that it was the ghost of Lob because how could another dog know Sandy, and have the same love for Sandy.It's strange how this could happen but their are other similar stories like this one that have still not been solved.jo3
ReplyDeleteI think Sandy's brother found a dead dog that looked just like Lob. Or maybe it was the dog and they sank it at sea. But maybe Lob swam back to shore & found the hospital to see Sandy.I think the story was too harsh.

It was so sad I couldn't believe it that lob had died. Idon't think this could happen for real life sometimes. If this was true I would be scared mm3
ReplyDeleteWhat I think of Lob's girl is it starts out all happy and jolly but as you go mare into the story it gets sad. Lob finds Sandy twice, both of them he ran 400 miles from Liverpoool.One day Sandy's Aunt invited her over but insted Sandy almost got killed but sadly lob got killed. Sandy survived but was left in a bosy cast.FF3

But he loved sandy so much that he did. when you find someone who really loves you your supposed to be with them for the rest of your life.thats why he kept coming back for her.

Yeah it is belivible because it is love at first site. I don't think it was Lob at the hospital i think it was Lob's brother or sister. A story i think is kinda the same is Old Yeller. TT3

The reason i said that was because Sandy was in the coma and Lob was killed in the accident.But once Lob had came to the hospital,Lob came up to her room.Then Lob started licking Sandy's face then she woke up from her coma.Lob had just came back to see Sandy one last time.[TJ3]

How did he come back if he was suppost to be died. i think that he might of been alive.Also, it could of been lob's ghost or spirit. i think that everyone was shocked and couldn't belive what they were seeing and they might be happy that when sandy saw him and got better.

I don't think lob died i think that may be the dad just said he was dead because he din't want the kids to be sader thinking hes alive and we just cant fid him. I think that was realy lob at the hospital that night and he left because he din't like seeing Sandy hurt.The end of the story was confusing and sad if lob realy died and sad that sandy was in a commma.I don't know any other stories like this.

I think its not belivable because lob was dead and now thiers another dog when lobs dead already. I think that when that dog came and the lady thought it was lob and let him in and told the gaurd to let him in.
well we had a yellow little bird and it was so cute and one day its beak opened the cage and it could not fly so it fell and my dog saw it and swallowed it well he ate it. so it died and we knew it was gone for sure. so one day we were all outside and saw the same little bird.

Lob did not get hit.Maybe that was another dog that got hit instead of Lob.So that was probably Lob in that hospital to See Sandy.

I felt sad because how the dog love sandy so much and sandy got hit by a speedy truck.Then the dog went to go see sandy but the guard didnt let him.but the grandma had to tell the guard he had the rights too. it was confusing about what they said in the story because they think they burried lob at sea.but some think it was his ghost that went to visit sandy.it was a sad story and confusing.but i still like it.dc5

At the hospital Sandy was badly injured and the saw a dog they think its Lob, but Don said Lob was dead. They dont know whats happening about thiers Lob was in the hospital but they say he was dead.

At first I felt really happy because Lob had camed back.Then when they said that he had died I felt confused and sad. I dont know how he could come back if he was dead. Probably in the hospital instead of him coming probably it was his spirit. Well I am going to keep trying to find out the truth.

What i think happen to Lob in the story was that when Lob got hit he was dead. Then when they through Lob in the sea he came to shock and came back to life. Then when he was strugling to get free the rope broke and he was set free. If thier was blood on him than the rain wiped off the blood. Then he found Sandy. J.L5
